January rocks!

Every time we head out to the beach, I tell myself I will only bring home the agates I find.
Once on the beach, my resolve crumbles. Sifting through the first rock pile, I start bargaining with myself:
Okay, Kelly, you can pick up the agates and those bright red rocks that you are convinced have veins of agate running through them...and those yellow ones that are especially smooth and mottled that have to be related to agates because they polish up so nicely in the rock tumbler...and any thing you haven't seen before that is especially pretty...and you do need more of the round, oval, and triangular black rocks that are mostly flat because you decided to paint 365 of those this year...and the petrified wood and bark, of course...and wouldn't it be nice to have a display of polished pink quartz in the bedroom window...oh, and look, there's another piece of driftwood shaped like a lucet...
I can't really explain why I love it so, this sifting through piles of rocks, filling my pockets and then bringing home what I find to fill our nooks and crannies.
I do know I'm not the only one out there (some of you perhaps a bit more single-minded in your pursuit) and I just have to say, I LOVE YOU PEOPLE!

That's what those big moving trucks are for, aren't they?
